Mobile for Platform - User Permissions

  • Updated

In order for technicians to use Successware Mobile, they'll need the right permissions.  In Successware Platform, an Admin can create User Roles once, and apply those permissions to all of their technicians. The User Role of Admin is the only one that is available by default in Successware Platform.

Admins are also able to access the Successware Mobile Admin site directly from Successware Platform. In order to access the Successware Mobile Admin site, users must have the Admin User Role.

The Admin User Role

To be able to access the Successware Mobile Admin site, you must have the Admin permission.  In order to add the Admin permission to your account, follow the steps below:

1. From the Main Menu, hover over the Setup option, and select User Manager.

2. Note which User Role is listed next to your account.

Technician User Roles

There are some permissions that you can change to restrict what your technicians can and cannot do out in the field.  We recommend creating three different User Roles for your technicians.

These three user groups are:

1. RemoteTech– This role allows the technician to use Successware Mobile and override prices. Their default permissions are:

  • Override Prices
  • Mobile Login

2. RemoteTechOnCall- This role allows the technician to search customers, view their own schedule, and create new customers and jobs as well as use the app and override prices.

  • Create New Job
  • Override Prices
  • Mobile Login

3. RemoteTechManager– This role allows the technician to view and add jobs to other technicians’ schedules in addition to searching their own schedule, adding customers, adding jobs, and overriding prices.

  • Dispatch
  • Create New Job
  • Override Prices
  • Mobile Login

Setting Up Technician User Roles

Following these steps will allow an Admin to create the three Technician User Roles:

1. From the Main Menu, hover over Setup, and select User Management.

  • This allows your technicians to add and schedule calls for themselves as well as other technicians and see the schedule of other technicians.
